Due date for payment of professional tax in Tamilnadu

In Tamilnadu professional tax has to be paid for every six months i.e in every year professional tax has to be paid for Two times. The due dates for payment of professional tax in Tamil Nadu are 30th September and 31st March. Non-payment of professional tax on right time will lead to the penalties.

Penalty for late payment of professional tax inTamil Nadu

The non-payment of professional tax on right time will lead to a penalty of 1.25% simple interest on total tax due.

To pay professional tax online in Tamil Nadu go to chennaicorportion.gov.in In the right-hand side of the homepage you can find an option called online tax payment, now click on that. Now a new page will open where you can find an option to pay professional tax. Now click on professional tax and log in with your user id and password. If you haven’t registered with the Chennai corporation portal, then first register and then make the payment.

  • For those earning up to Rs. 10,000 per month, the professional tax is Rs. 200.
  • For those earning between Rs. 10,001 and Rs. 20,000 per month, the professional tax is Rs. 250.

  • For those earning between Rs. 90,001 and Rs. 1,00,000 per month, the professional tax is Rs. 650.
  • For those earning more than Rs. 1,00,000 per month, the professional tax is Rs. 700.
