To understand the expression, precedence<\/a> and associativity<\/a> of operators are important. In C++, the >><\/code> operator is left-associative<\/a>, which means you can rewrite your expression<\/p>\n

Interpretation<\/strong><\/p>\n
Looking at the code for the operator>><\/a> you see that the method takes an argument of type T<\/code> and returns a reference to itself. In your particular case, the argument is an instance of CBlockLocator<\/a> (a STL vector<\/a> of uint256<\/a> elements). Notice that the operator>><\/code> calls Unserialize<\/a> which effectively reads bytes from a stream. <\/p>\n
Thus<\/p>\n
(vRecv >> locator)\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
reads bytes from the vRecv<\/code> stream into your locator<\/code> object, returns the same stream meaning that next this is executed<\/p>\n
vRecv >> hashStop\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
which advances the stream to read bytes into the hashStop<\/code> object. So, long story short: fill the locator<\/code> and hashStop<\/code> objects with bytes from the stream<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
