The functions are not being executed “automatically,” they’re being executed because you’re explicitly calling them:<\/p>\n

const arr = [\n    { 'Some text': this.f('a') },\n    \/\/             ^^^^^^^^^^^\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212 here\n    { 'Some other text': this.f('b') }\n    \/\/                   ^^^^^^^^^^^\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212\u2212 and here\n]\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
The result of the above is an array with two objects in it, where the first object has a property called Some text<\/code> whose value is the result<\/strong> of having called this.f('a')<\/code> and the second object has a property called Some other text<\/code> whose value is the result<\/strong> of having called this.f('b')<\/code>.<\/p>\n
If you wanted to delay those calls until some later time, you’d need to wrap them in functions:<\/p>\n

If you want to call them later wrapped in try<\/code>\/catch<\/code> blocks, you could do it like this:<\/p>\n
for (const obj of arr) {\n    for (const fn of Object.values(obj)) {\n        try {\n            fn();\n        } catch (e) {\n            \/\/ ...\n        }\n    }\n}\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
…or the equivalent with forEach<\/code>:<\/p>\n

I suspect you want something like this:<\/p>\n
const arr = [\n    { 'Some text': () => this.f('a') },\n    { 'Some other text': () => this.f('b') }\n].map(obj => {\n    return Object.fromEntries(Object.entries(obj).map(([key, value]) => {\n        try {\n            value = value();\n        } catch (e) {\n            \/\/ ...presumably do something with the fact it failed...\n        }\n        return [key, value];\n    }));\n});\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
The result of the above is that arr<\/code> has objects with the same keys as the initial object literal, but with the values being the result of calling the functions (or whatever you write to value<\/code> in the catch<\/code> block).<\/p>\n
