\nSo lets start with the std::<\/code> part. This is called a namespace. Namespaces are sometimes confusing people, but they are very useful.
\nA namespace is just little container that can hold class<\/code>es, enum<\/code>s, sturct<\/code>s and all the other things in one place.<\/p>\n

Why are they useful?
\nWell, for example, if you are writing a painting program and that program is interacting with graphics, both may contain classes named color<\/code> and point<\/code>. If you have no namespace, it would be impossible<\/strong> to do so!<\/p>\n

Then comes the cout<\/code> part. cout<\/code> is an actual class in the std<\/code> namespace, kind of like the Color<\/code> class in above example. So as an example, here is a simplified example of paint<\/code> and grahpics<\/code>:<\/p>\n

So, as you can see,  you  can have namespaces to encapsulate different classes with the same name.
\nHow do you use them is easy<\/strong>:
\nYou just add the namespace’s name in front of it (e.g paint::color<\/code> or gui::color<\/code>). Here is an example:<\/p>\n

To sum it up <something><\/code><\/strong> is class name or variable name, or perhaps a nested namespace (a namespace inside a namespace), but in case of cout<\/code>, it is the name of a class.<\/p>\n
