As the name <em>Upcoming<\/em> says: The <em>Upcoming<\/em> data has to be entered before the <em>Result<\/em> can make sense. Unless an <em>UpcomingGame<\/em> can be cancelled, there will indeed be a <em>Result<\/em> for the <em>Game<\/em>, so there is no need to separate the information into 2 tables. I&#8217;d say, a user interface could look like this:<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/jassweb.com\/solved\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Solved-Multiple-table-update-design-in-Access.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jassweb.com\/solved\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Solved-Multiple-table-update-design-in-Access.jpg\" alt=\"enter image description here\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you can see, the <code>T_NUM<\/code> column is an autovalue. Before entering any data, I initialized that column using a query like this (and deleted that record afterwards):<\/p>\n<pre><code>INSERT INTO Games ( T_NUM )\nVALUES (1004);\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>This way, the numbering started with number 1005.<\/p>\n<p>You won&#8217;t be able to to avoid gaps in the numbering, as long as the users can remove existing records or cancel the insertion of a new record.
