Your exponent<\/code> function needs to return the n<\/code> instead of x<\/code> and in your main()<\/code> you probably want to initialize the variable x<\/code> to the value of function exponent<\/code> with an argument of 5<\/code>:<\/p>\n

prior to printing via:<\/p>\n
print_exponent(x);\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
That being said, your exponent<\/code> function is broken as the return value is always the same no matter the parameter value. Modify the for<\/code> loop to be:<\/p>\n
for (int i = 1; i < x; i++) {\n    n *= 6;\n}\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
And you probably want to check if the parameter is equal to 0<\/code>:<\/p>\n
