Why is that?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Because Main()<\/code> is static.<\/p>\n

If Main()<\/code> was an instance method, and you had called Main()<\/code> on an instance of myClass<\/code> (e.g., new myClass<\/code>), then doThis()<\/code> could also be an instance method. Or, if your static Main()<\/code> created an instance of myClass<\/code>, it could call doThis()<\/code> on that instance.<\/p>\n

When I develop some basic things in Android, I never have to use the static keyword.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

That is because your entry points in Android tend to be instance methods on components (e.g., onCreate()<\/code> of an Activity<\/code>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
