This is the line I’m having a problem with<\/p>\n

\n    for(int i = a; i &lt= b; i++) { \/* body of the loop *\/ }\n<\/pre>\n<\/blockquote>\n
See e.g. https:\/\/en.cppreference.com\/w\/cpp\/language\/for<\/a>, it translates into something like:<\/p>\n
Executes int i = a;<\/code> once, then executes the body of the loop and i++<\/code> repeatedly, until the value of condition i <= b<\/code> becomes false. The test takes place before<\/em> each iteration. <\/p>\n
So, basically, it defines an integer variable i<\/code>, initializes it with the value of a<\/code> and while its value is less than or equal to b<\/code> it executes the body of the loop and increments i<\/code>.<\/p>\n
Now consider the text of the assignment: <\/p>\n

You will be given two positive integers, a and b (a <= b), separated by a newline.

That’s the first logic difference between your implementation and the accepted one. Consider this lines:<\/p>\n
\/\/ The use of an array instead of two different variables is not a problem, but...\nint n[2];\ncin >> n[0] >> n[1];\n\n\/\/ The loop is executed only twice, only for the two ends values, not the values in between\nfor (int i = 0; i <= 1; i++) { \n\/\/          ^^^     ^^^ \n    if (n[i] == 1)\n        cout << \"one\" << endl;\n    else if (n[i] == 2)\n    \/\/ ...\n}\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
The correct way to loop “for each integer in the interval [a,b]”<\/em>, given your array of two values, would be<\/p>\n
for (int i = n[0]; i <= n[1]; i++) { \n\/\/          ^^^^^^     ^^^^^^ \n    if (i == 1)\n    \/\/ ^^^     \n        cout << \"one\" << endl;\n    else if (i == 2)\n    \/\/      ^^^\n    \/\/ ...\n}\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
The second one is that you have two<\/strong> loops, so each one is executed for each value, printing two strings, while you should have one<\/strong> loop and print one line for each value:<\/p>\n
