Though I am not compleately sure what your question demands, but as far as i comphreanded it, True<\/code> and False<\/code> are being printed to your file, which is not the desired output?<\/p>\n

Well that’s because re.search<\/code> returns a Match Object<\/code>, For example:<\/p>\n

So when you’re doing:<\/p>\n
invalid  = re.search !=(rule,Reg)\nfile3.write(str(invalid))\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
It looks for the pattern and then prints True<\/code> if the pattern matches and False<\/code> if pattern doesnot matches. <\/p>\n
You’ll have to call the .group()<\/code> function in re.search<\/code> module to get the result:<\/p>\n
>>> output.group() \n'iii'\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
So when modified accordingly, your code will become:<\/p>\n
file3.write(str(invalid.group()))\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
I’d suggest padding it up with a try\/catch<\/code> clause or it’ll throw an error when there is no element in the group object.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
