You can easily install xampp first from https:\/\/www.apachefriends.org\/download.html<\/a><\/p>\n

(Follow these<\/a> steps for xampp installation.)<\/p>\n

Then follow the instructions as:<\/p>\n

  1. Install and run xampp from http:\/\/www.unixmen.com\/install-xampp-stack-ubuntu-14-04\/<\/a>, then start Apache Web Server and MySQL Database from the GUI.<\/li>\n
  2. You can configure your web server as you want but by default web server is at http:\/\/localhost:80<\/code> and database at port 3306<\/code>, and PhpMyadmin at http:\/\/localhost\/phpmyadmin\/<\/code><\/li>\n
  3. From here you can see your databases and access them using very friendly GUI.<\/li>\n
  4. Create any database(DB_NAME<\/code>) which you want to use on your Django Project.<\/li>\n

    Edit your settings.py file<\/p>\n

    DATABASES = {

    \n 'ENGINE': 'django.db.backends.mysql',
    \n 'NAME': 'DB_NAME',
    \n 'HOST': '127.0.0.1',
    \n 'PORT': '3306',
    \n 'USER': 'root',

    Install the following packages in the virtualenv (if you’re using django on virtualenv, which is more preferred):<\/p>\n

    sudo apt-get install libmysqlclient-dev<\/code><\/p>\n

    pip install MySQL-python<\/code><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    That’s it!! you have configured Django with MySQL in a very easy way.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Now run your Django project:<\/p>\n

    python manage.py migrate<\/code><\/p>\n
