How to Check PF Balance without Registered Mobile Number & UAN Password
If you do not have your registered mobile number and UAN password, you can still check your PF balance by visiting the nearest EPFO office. You will need to provide your UAN number and other details such as your name, date of birth, etc. to the EPFO officials. They will then be able to provide you with your PF balance.
To check your PF balance you don’t need a PF registered mobile number, with just UAN number and password you can check your PF balance online. If you don’t know your UAN also, then first you need to find your UAN, even for that also you don’t need a registered mobile number.
But to find your UAN number your PF account should be linked with your KYC such as Aadhaar or PAN. Without them it is not possible to find UAN online.
How to Check PF Balance without Registered Mobile Number.
Step 1: Go to PF passbook portal website and login with your UAN and password.
Step 2: Now select the PF account for which you want to check your PF balance and click on view PF passbook old.
Step 3: Now you can see the total employee balance and employer balance in your PF account, and you can also check the pension balance in the last column of the PF passbook.
Step 4: If you want to check yearly PF contributions then click on the view passbook (new: yearly) option.
How to Check PF Balance without Mobile Number and UAN Password
If you forgot your UAN password, but know your UAN then you can set a new password by using the forgot UAN option in the UAN member portal.
But if you don’t know even your UAN then follow the below steps, to find it.
Step 1: Go to the UAN member portal and click on know your UAN option.
Step 2: Now enter any of your mobile number which is not yet linked to any other PF accounts and type the captcha and click on the request OTP button.
Step 3: Now enter the OTP received to your given mobile number and again type the new captcha and click on validate OTP button.
Step 4: After successful validation of OTP, enter your name & DOB as per your EPF account, and select either Aadhaar (or) PAN. (which was linked to your PF account)
Step 5: If you select Aadhar then enter Aadhar number (or) if you select PAN then enter PAN number and type the captcha and click on show my UAN option.
Now your UAN will be shown on the screen, note that UAN number and now you need to set a new password for UAN portal, which can be also used to download PF passbook.
How to Set a New Password for UAN Member Portal.
To set a new password your PF account must be linked with your Aadhar earlier, then only you can create a new password for the UAN portal.
Step 1: Go to the UAN member portal website and click on the forgot password option.
Step 2: Now enter your UAN number and type the captcha and click on submit.
Step 3: Now the first Two digits & last Two digits of your PF registered mobile number will be shown. If you have that mobile number with you then click on Yes, otherwise click on No, to enter another mobile number.
Step 4: If you click on No, then a new page will open, enter your name, DOB and select the gender and click on verify.
Step 5: Now type the captcha and enter your Aadhar number and tick the declaration box and click on verify.
Step 6: After validation of your Aadhar, enter your Aadhar linked mobile number and click on get OTP button.
Step 7: Once you receive the OTP, then enter that OTP and type the captcha again and click on verify.
Step 8: Now you can find an option to set a new UAN password, after creating the new password, you can login in to your PF passbook portal and you can download your EPF passbook to check your PF balance.
What if My PF Account is Not Linked to My Aadhaar or PAN
In that case you need to contact your employer (or) your EPF regional office and request them to link your Aadhar Number.
Once your Aadhar is linked to your PF account then you can create a new UAN password online.

If you know your basic wage, then take 12% of your average basic wage every month and multiply it with how many months you have contributed to the PF. which gives an idea of employee PF balance.
To know employer contribution take 3.67% of your basic wage and multiply with how many months you contributed to PF.
To know pension balance take 8.33% of your average basic wage and multiply with your toal months of service. This gives an idea of how much balance you have in your PF account.
(The actual PF balance will be higher than this calculation, because every year interest will be paid on PF contributions of employee and employer, for Fy 2020-21 the PF interest rate is 8.50%)
