How to Cancel/Revoke POA in Zerodha or Upstox
The Zerodha or Upstox account holders who have signed and submitted their power of attorney forms (POA) can revoke or cancel their POA at any time they want. They can do that offline by writing a request letter to Zerodha or Upstox head office to revoke their POA. After cancellation, you will receive a mail from Zerodha that your POA has cancelled.
Here you can find a sample request letter that you can use it for the cancellation of your POA with Zerodha or Upstox or any stock brokerage firm. You have to send this letter through a registered post.
Remember there is no separate POA revocation form of Zerodha or Upstox, you can do it only by writing a request letter.

It is your user id which you use it to login in Zerodha Kite dash board.

It is 16 digit unique number, which you can find it in your Zerodha console dash board.

What is Power of Attorney (POA) in Demat Account
It is a legal document, by signing this you are giving permission to your brokerage firm to debit your shares from your demat account when you want to sell your shares.
Is it any problem if Sign POA
Until your broker is genuine till then there is no problem. But there are some brokers recently like Karvy misused power of attorney signed by their clients.
Earlier we need to send a delivery slip if we don’t sign a POA, but now CDSL came with a new option called TPIN, by using this PIN you can sell your shares without signing a POA.
Is POA mandatory to open a demat account
No, it is not mandatory. With new TPIN option from CDSL it is not at all required.
Can I Revoke my POA
Yes, you can revoke your POA, with your brokerage firm whenever you want, for that you need to write a request letter.
How to create my TPIN
You can create your TPIN easily at https://edis.cdslindia.com/home/generatepin by using your Demat ID and PAN.
How to Use TPIN
Whenever you want to sell your shares from Demat holdings then you will be redirected to CDSL website, there you need to enter your TPIN. After verifying your TPIN you can sell your shares.
